The Governor's trick

 "For assaulting prisoner 9455 I'm sentencing you to the flogging," said the prison governor with a stern expression on his face. "Do you have anything to say, prisoner?"
"I don't care what are you going to do to me. It was worth to kick his ass", Johnny answered defiantly. 
The warden was quiet for a while, then licked his lips and smiled.
"Prisoner 9455, you will carry out the sentence".
"Thank you, sir."
Johnny's face was white like a sheet of paper. He was so shocked it took him a while to understand the governor's words.
"No!!!!!", he shouted in despair. Being at the mercy of Tanner was the last thing he could accept. "It is against the prison rules!"
"You should be thinking about the prison rules earlier, before attacking him in the cantine", the governor replied.
Johhny made a last-ditch effort to avoid giving Tanner the possibility to beat him.
"He is not skilled in whipping. Only trained staff can beat my back efficiently".
"I appreciate your concern for the effectiveness of the punishment, prisoner 7206. Take him away".

Johnny looked boldly, almost insolently, at the whip in the hand of the hated fellow prisoner. The whipping stopped after a few lashes. It was a nightmare but his effort to keep silent was rewarded with success. However, it cost him a lot.

Johnny played tough guy. Prisoner 7206 smiled. He was told the number of lashes depends only on his will. He waved the whip again.

Prisoner's 9455 upper body tightened, his young muscles rippling. He clenched his teeth waiting for the next lash.

"Whack!!!!!" The whip took another trip across the young muscular back, again visited the shoulder blades and tender sides. Johnny arched his body in pain and groaned. His confidence diminished.

"Whack!!!!" Tanner slashed whip down once more, and a scream tore itself from Johnny’s throat.

"Yeoww!"

"Whack!!!" Prisoner’s 9455 head snapped back and he emitted an almost inhuman scream.

"Aaaaaaaaa...."

Tanner cried with delight "Yes, yes, yes!".

"Whack!!!'

The prisoner screamed again. The sounds in the courtyard continued for a long time...
